U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a direct threat of war against Iran, warning that military action will follow if Tehran refuses to agree to a new nuclear deal with the United States. In an interview with NBC News, Trump declared, “If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombing, the likes of which they have never seen before.” He further warned of imposing secondary tariffs on Iran, stating, “There’s a chance that if they don’t make a deal, that I will do secondary tariffs on them like I did four years ago.”
Iran has rejected direct negotiations with the U.S., citing sanctions and military threats. Tehran insists that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, despite exceeding uranium enrichment limits set by the 2015 nuclear deal, which the U.S. withdrew from under Trump’s administration.
Trump’s threats come amid growing pressure from Israel, which continues to push the U.S. for direct military action, potentially leading to a full-scale war with Iran. Despite calls for a new agreement, Tehran has continued to defy the U.S. ultimatum.
